Brought to you by Essential Screen Skills, this 90 minute online professional learning (via Zoom) presented by Ash Burgess provides practical tips for helping students generate ideas for engaging stories. This is applicable to all ages and units, from experimental film to documentary to short narrative film.

Ashley Burgess is the head of Special Projects at Griffith Film School and Director of Kolperi Outback Filmmaking. He is a specialist cross-cultural filmmaker and producer who has directed feature films, documentaries and radio dramas throughout Asia and the Pacific. As a showrunner and Head of Production with the BBC in Burma and Thailand, his acclaimed programs regularly sustained prime-time audiences of over ten million. Ashley has been a creative lead on over 200 broadcast productions in nine languages and ten countries. Most of his projects are in partnership with First Nations communities in Asia and the Pacific tackling social justice issues. Ashley continues to produce and lead international co-productions and a range of award-winning Filmmaking Bootcamps in Thailand, India, Vanuatu, Japan, Indonesia, and the Australian Outback. He has degrees in Film, Philosophy and Entrepreneurship.
